2022 Holiday Events on Maryland’s Coast

The holidays are right around the corner and approaching fast! Here on Maryland’s Coast, all of our amazing towns are gearing up for their one-of-a-kind holiday events and festivities for locals and visitors alike to enjoy. Have you started filling up your calendar yet?

Check out the holiday happenings in Ocean City, Ocean Pines, Berlin, Snow Hill, and Pocomoke. Whether it’s gift shopping, Christmas tree lighting, or arts & crafts, there’s something for the whole family to be excited about this holiday season. Ocean City, MD Events

Winterfest of Lights - Nov. 17-Dec. 31
Winterfest of Lights is an OCMD tradition for thousands of people each year. The light show walking tour through Northside Park is truly a magical experience with light displays galore! Plus, you can take pictures with Santa, sip hot chocolate, and shop at the gift store.

40th Annual Holiday Shoppers Fair - Nov. 25-27
The Roland E. Powell Convention Center in Ocean City, MD will host its annual Holiday Shoppers Fair! With over 120 vendors, you’re sure to find gifts for everyone on your list. Handmade products, gifts, household items, and children’s activities are some of the highlights.

Ocean City Christmas Parade - Dec. 3
Arrive early to get the best view of the Ocean City Christmas Parade from Old Landing Road north to 120th Street in town. The Carousel Hotel will host activities and the award presentation afterward.

SantaCon OCMD - Dec. 9-11
The popular SantaCon bar crawl is back for its 12th year encouraging merry fun and supporting charities along the way. Come on out to your favorite local bars dressed as Santa and contribute to Kenille’s Kupboard and the Assateague Coastal Trust.

 

Berlin, MD Events

Ice Ice Berlin & Tree Lighting - Nov. 25
Get ready to see the coolest holiday light and ice sculptures along with the town’s Christmas tree lighting up for the first time. Go on a horse-drawn carriage ride, dance to the music, and meet Santa over at the Kringle Kottage at the Taylor House Museum.

Merry Marketplace - Nov. 26-Dec. 24
Every Saturday from November 26th to December 24th, visit the Berlin Commons for vendor booths and mead on tap! The rain date for each Saturday will be the Sunday after.

Berlin Christmas Parade - Dec. 1
The largest holiday parade on Maryland’s Coast takes place in Berlin with over 80 participants! Get the perfect spot to watch the parade at 7 PM starting at the Berlin Welcome Center and head north to the Berlin Fire Company.

12 Days of Christmas - Dec. 3-4
Have a weekend full of holiday family fun at the farm off of Sinepuxent Road! Enjoy the decorations, and games, while shopping with the assortment of vendors.

Berlin New Year's Eve Celebration and Ball Drop - Dec. 31
It’s time to start thinking about New Year’s Eve already with the two celebrations hosted in Berlin! Bring the kids to enjoy the ball drop at 6 PM with a laser show beforehand at 5:15. Then the big kid celebration starts at 6:30 PM with live music to dance the night away. Beer and wine will be available at 10 PM and a laser show and ball drop at midnight, of course!

Ocean Pines, MD Events

Santa in the Park - Nov. 26
Bring the kids to White Horse Park from 6:30 PM to 8 PM to sit on Santa’s lap and get their holiday pictures taken. Bring your camera to capture the moment and stroll through the lights and decorations around White Horse Park afterward.

12th Annual Hometown Christmas Tree Lighting - Nov. 26
Join in as White Horse Park lights up with decorations and Christmas trees! Ocean Pines businesses can sponsor and decorate a tree to add to the park’s winter wonderland display.

Breakfast with The Grinch & Buddy The Elf - Dec. 3
Haven’t you ever wanted to have breakfast with The Grinch and Buddy the Elf? Don’t worry—it won’t be spaghetti and candy! Sign up and bring the whole family for breakfast and holiday photos. Unwrapped gift donations are encouraged for local charities. 

Light Up the Pines - Dec. 9
Brighten up the town and submit your decorated house to the outdoor decorating competition. Register by December 9th to participate in a drawing for a $50 bill credit from Choptank Electric!

Gingerbread Man Decorating - Dec. 16
Ocean Pines Recreation and Parks host gingerbread cookie decorating! Kids ages 3 to 12 can register to create festive gingerbread with all materials provided.

Snow Hill, MD Events

Tree Lighting Ceremony - Nov. 25
Join in to welcome the holiday season in Sturgis Park with the annual tree lighting ceremony. Festivities start at 5:30 PM and you don’t want to miss it!

Ice Skating at Sturgis Park - Nov. 25-Dec. 17
Enjoy ice skating in the beautiful Sturgis Park every Friday and Saturday from November 25th to December 17th! For only $5, come on out and experience the winter fun.

Snow Hill Christmas Parade - Dec. 5
The annual Christmas Parade is back in Snow Hill on December 5th, starting at 7 PM. Register your group to join in or watch them go by from Church Street to Market Street.

Pocomoke City, MD Events

Pocomoke Christmas Parade - Nov. 28
The 50th annual Pocomoke Christmas Parade will take place on November 28th! As one of Delmarva’s largest Christmas Parades, there will be marching bands from three states, decorated floats, thousands of spectators, and of course, Santa Claus at the end! Be ready to watch at 7 PM sharp.

Pocomoke City's Old-Fashioned Christmas Evening - Dec. 2
The friendliest town on the Eastern Shore will transport you to a winter wonderland during Pocomoke City’s Old-Fashioned Christmas Evening. From 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM, enjoy the Christmas tree lighting, live holiday entertainment, free food and treats, kid’s activities, horse-drawn carriage rides, and so much more!

Santa's Train Wonderland - Dec. 10-11
The Pocomoke Area Model Train Club will be set up at the Delmarva Discovery Museum with beautiful train displays and decorations. Come by for a special weekend on December 10th and 11th. If you can’t make it, the train displays can still be visited throughout the month.
