Not long after the terrible Nor' Easter of 1933 cut the inlet in Ocean City, local sportfishing captains discovered unbelievable numbers of marlin congregating not far offshore in the Atlantic. It didn't take long for a group of local captains and Sportfishermen to band together to form a loose-knit organization aimed at conserving this new found resource, and to promote Ocean City's sportfishing. Years later they became known as the Ocean City Marlin Club. The OCMC is working to create an interest in our area's sport fishing and promote the conservation of the sea and her creatures.
